中国国家博物馆位于天安门广场东侧，与人民大会堂相对，是以历史与艺术并重，集收藏、展览、研究、考古、公共教育、文化交流于一体的综合性国家博物馆。

The National Museum of China(NMC) is located on the east side of Tian’anmen Square in Beijing, opposite the Great Hall of the People. It is a comprehensive national museum that focuses on both history and art, integrating collection, exhibition, research, archaeology, public education, and cultural exchange. 

中国国家博物馆成立于 2003年，由原中国历史博物馆和中国革命博物馆合并而成。2012年，中国国家博物馆改扩建完成并正式对外开放，建筑面积增加到近20万平方米，标准展厅数量48个，是世界上单体建筑面积最大的博物馆。

The NMC was established in 2003 by the merger of the National Museum of Chinese History and the National Museum of Chinese Revolution. After the renovation and expansion, the museum was reopened in 2012, with a total floor area of nearly 200,000 square meters and 48 standard exhibition halls. 中国国家博物馆设有“古代中国”“复兴之路”和“复兴之路·新时代部分”三个常设展览，以及十余个各艺术品门类的专题展览及各类国际交流展览。

The NMC has three basic displays: “Ancient China”, “The Road of Rejuvenation ”, and “The Road of Rejuvenation: New Era”, as well as more than 10 special exhibitions of various art categories and international exchange exhibitions. 

中国国家博物馆现有藏品数量 143万余件，藏品的数量、质量在国内均名列前茅。馆藏有一大批我们耳熟能详的国宝级文物。

The NMC houses more than 1.43 million items of collection. The collections belong to the best in terms of quantity and quality in China. A large number national treasures have long been well-known to the public.

看，这个彩陶盆的内壁以黑彩绘出两组对称人面鱼纹。半坡人在许多陶器上都绘有鱼纹和网纹图案，这应该与当时的图腾崇拜和经济生活有关。

Who would have thought that Chang’an Street in the Tang Dynasty was so bustling and lively! A camel with its head held high carries five Han and Hu artists, with a Hu person dancing in the middle, and the other four sitting around playing music. This pottery figurine has bright and glossy glaze colors, which can be said to have represented the highest level of sancai-glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty, and also witnessed the communication and integration on the Silk Road in the past.
