卢浮宫博物馆位于法国巴黎市中心的塞纳河北岸（右岸），是世界上最大、最古老的博物馆之一，具有 800 多年的历史。法国国王腓力二世建造了一座名为卢浮宫的城堡，是博物馆的前身。法国国王查理五世改造城堡为宫殿。法国国王弗朗索瓦一世重建它成皇宫。法国国王亨利四世加建了它最壮观的部分——大画廊。卢浮宫前的标志性金字塔形玻璃入口由建筑大师贝聿铭设计。

The Louvre Museum is located on the right-bank of the Seine River in the center of Paris, France. It is one of the largest and oldest museums in the world with a history of over 800 years. The castle named Louvre was built by King Philip II of France,which was the predecessor of the museum. Charles V, King of France turned the castle into a palace. King Francis I of France rebuilt it into a royal palace. Henry IV, King of France added the most magnificent part of it, the Grand Gallery. The iconic pyramid-shaped glass entrance of the Louvre was designed by the architect I. M. Pei.  

1793 年 8 月 10 日，卢浮宫博物馆正式对外开放。其藏品数量达 40 万件：从古代埃及、希腊到东方各国的艺术品，从中世纪到现代的雕塑作品，还有数量惊人的王室珍玩以及精品绘画等。

The Louvre Museum officially opened to the public on August 10, 1793. It houses a collection of over 400,000 items, including artworks from ancient Egypt, Greece, and various Eastern countries, sculptures from the Middle Ages to the present, as well as an astonishing number of royal treasures and fine paintings.

Venus de Milo

它是希腊女性雕像中最美的一尊。尤其令人惊奇的是：虽然她的双臂已经断了，但那雕刻得栩栩如生的身躯，仍然给人以完美之感，以至于后世的任何复原都似画蛇添足。

It is the most beautiful one among the Greek female statues. What is particularly amazing is that although her arms have been broken, her lifelike body still gives people a sense of perfection, in the extent that any restoration in later generations seems superluous.

Winged Victory of Samothrace

它是希腊时期留存下来的稀世原作，艺术家仿佛赋予了冰冷的石头以生命的活力，令后人在面对这座现实主义和浪漫主义相结合的雕像时不禁发出由衷的赞叹。

It is a rare original work from the Hellenistic period, as if the artist has endowed the cold stone with the vitality of life, making people can’t help but admire it when facing this combination of realism and romanticism.  

蒙娜丽莎

Mona Lisa

它是意大利文艺复兴时期画家达·芬奇创作的油画，成功地塑造了一位带有“神秘微笑”的城市有产阶级女性形象。每年到此观赏《蒙娜丽莎》的人数有 600 万左右。

It is an oil painting by the Italian Renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci, successfully portrayed an urban propertied woman with a“mysterious smile”. About 6 million people come here to appreciate Mona Lisa every year.
