开罗埃及博物馆坐落于开罗市中心的解放广场北侧。1863年，被誉为“埃及博物馆之父”的著名法国考古学家马里埃特将一家船舶公司的仓库改建为布拉克博物馆，成为开罗埃及博物馆的前身。1902年，博物馆迁入开罗并正式对公众开放。

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo (EMC) is located on the northern side of Tahrir Square, Downtown,Cairo. In 1863, the “Father of the Egyptian Museum”, the famous French archaeologist Mariette,transformed a warehouse of a shipping company into the Bulaq Museum, which became the predecessor of the Egyptian Museum. In 1902, it moved to a new building in Cairo and opened to the public.

开罗埃及博物馆是中东地区最古老的考古博物馆，馆藏文物逾17万件，拥有全球最丰富的法老时期文物藏品。该博物馆的展品时间跨度纵贯前王朝时期至希腊-罗马时期（约公元前5500年—364年）。

The EMC is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East, housing over 170,000 artefacts. It has the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. The Museum’s exhibits span the Pre-Dynastic Period till the Graeco-Roman Era (c. 5500 BC-AD 364).

开罗埃及博物馆的镇馆之宝天下闻名，“图坦卡蒙金棺”“图坦卡蒙黄金面具”“图坦卡蒙黄金宝座”三件宝物，可以与世界上任何一个博物馆里最值得夸耀的宝物相媲美。

The treasures of the EMC are world-renowned, including the “Golden coffins of King Tutankhamun”, “Funerary golden mask of King Tutankhamun”, and “Ceremonial throne of Tutankhamun”, which can rival the most celebrated treasures in any museum around the world.

开罗埃及博物馆展品分四个部分:

The exhibits of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo are divided into four sections:

第一部分以法老雕像为主，展示古埃及历史画卷，再现了埃及古王国时期，又称“金字塔时期”。

The first section primarily features statues of pharaohs, showcasing the historical panorama of Ancient Egypt and recreating the era of the Old Kingdom, also known as the “Pyramid Age”.

第二部分展示了大量古埃及石棺、木乃伊、随葬品等，阐释了古埃及人的来世哲学。

The second section displays a large number of ancient Egyptian sarcophagi, mummies, and burial items, illustrating the ancient Egyptians’ philosophy of the afterlife.

图坦卡蒙金棺用纯金制成，被誉为人类历史上最伟大的黄金艺术品。

Golden coffins of King Tutankhamun are made of pure gold and are hailed as the greatest golden artwork in human history.

黄金面具是用金板依照图坦卡蒙生前面貌打造，上面镶满红宝石，额上还塑有象征上下埃及统治者的秃鹫和眼镜蛇。

The golden mask is crafted from gold plates to resemble Tutankhamen’s appearance during his lifetime, adorned with rubies, and features a vulture and cobra symbolizing the rulers of Upper and Lower Egypt on the forehead.

第三部分主要展示古埃及艺术品。

The third section mainly shows ancient Egyptian artworks.

第四部分主要展示古埃及平民的生活状况。

The fourth section focuses on the living conditions of ordinary ancient Egyptians.

图坦卡蒙黄金宝座正面两侧各有一个金狮子头，扶手为蛇首鹰身雕像，靠背是一幅王室家庭生活画，整个宝座覆以 3 毫米厚的浮雕金箔，并镶嵌琉璃与半宝石装饰。

The ceremonial throne of Tutankhamun has a lion’s head on each side of the front, with armrests shaped like snake-headed, eagle-bodied statues, and the backrest depicts a scene of royal family life, entirely overlaid with an embossed gold sheet 3mm thick and inlaid with vitreous paste and semi-precious stones.
